The Steps That We Take to Install Your PPF Package at KRWORKS
Preparing Your Vehicle’s Exterior
Before the application of your paint protection film package, your vehicle needs to be decontaminated to rid the paintwork of any debris, dust, leftover wax, or other impurities. You may have taken great care of the vehicle; however, we standardize the start of the installation by performing a two-bucket hand wash and decontamination. We then thoroughly examine the vehicle's paint condition, checking for any flaws, scratches, or other concerns that must be resolved prior to the film's application. Should it be required, a minor paint correction process is conducted at this point which will smooth your clear coat and increase gloss.
Your Paint Protection Film is Hand-Applied
At KRWORKS, our application process is meticulously tailored to your vehicle. Utilizing advanced software, we modify custom patterns specific to your vehicle's make, model, and year. For optimal coverage, we often opt for bulk pieces over standard patterns, ensuring a truly custom installation. The film application involves a blend of soap, alcohol, and gel mixed with distilled water, applied using finely filtered sprayers to eliminate any contamination. Each panel is carefully covered with the film, followed by a thorough squeegeeing to remove excess solution. We then perform precise trimming, leaving just enough material to neatly fold around the edges for a seamless finish.
Final PPF CURING and Inspection
Following the meticulous trimming and tucking process, we allow the film to cure overnight in our climate-controlled shop. This crucial step aids in evaporating any remaining moisture and fortifying the adhesive's bond. Post initial curing, a heat gun is used to seal edges that may have slightly lifted as moisture escapes. Finally, the PPF undergoes a rigorous final inspection to identify and rectify any imperfections, guaranteeing impeccable quality and finish.
